My name is Sophia but growing up my mum called me Sofiko, I was surrounded by artists in my family, uncles, godmother who I have always admired so much. I watched them create while quietly dreaming of being an artist one day too. Sofiko is the little artist in me, creating art and dreaming of what more is possible. Making these works makes me happy, so that’s what I’m trying to achieve.

In recent years, I began intentionally reconnecting with my creativity. I began with digital illustrations of homes and wedding venues as gifts for friends and family; where I knew I wanted to do more with this in the future.

In 2023 I moved to Melbourne, Australia for a year and fostered a kitten I named Emily. She was so special to me that I found myself thinking, “someone should paint her”. That moment sparked something, I realised I could be the one to do it. Creating her portrait felt deeply sentimental, and that feeling stayed with me. I went on to paint pet portraits for the shelter in Melbourne, an experience that deepened my connection to creating art rooted in emotion, care, and connection.

Since then, I’ve continued to explore commissioned painting as a way to preserve personal memories, whether that’s a wedding venue, a home, or a much-loved pet.

Sofiko Studio is built on the belief that art can be both emotional and considered. I create each piece slowly and intentionally, with the aim of producing work that feels true, timeless, and worthy of being kept.
